Dr. McCarthy's interest in
Hand & upper Extremity problems has grown with a focused practice
based on his orthopaedic and hand fellowship train at Washington
University. While treating current problems with state of the
art techniques he continues with basic science and clinical research
with the hope new ideas and/or techniques can be found.
Dr. McCarthy applies his
subspecialty training in upper extremity injuries to athletes.
This interest and training has prompted publications of multiple
studies on shoulder, elbow and hand problems.
Whether a pitcher has shoulder
impingement, a torn elbow ligament, or a "baseball" finger, Dr.
McCarthy applies his fellowship and clinical skills during treatment
and return to sports. |
